Book-spiration
I've always been an avid and indiscriminate book reader and often listen to audiobooks while I am painting. I also love old buildings and structures, and they often make their way into my paintings. These two sources of inspiration books and architecture are shown in this still life. Books from my collection are stacked with the colorful bindings facing invitingly towards the viewer. The books sit on top of fabric with a house pattern, playing with the sense of scale in the painting. A potted plant tops off the composition.
